Stores data, information, and direction that can be access in the future.

 

 

 

B.    Hard Disk

Part of a computer that stores all digital data in the computer

1.     RAID

                  A group of multiple disk

2.     NAS

                  Storage connected to network

3.     External and Removable Disk

                  External Disk is a separate hard disk that connected to the device by cable.

Removable Disk is a hard disk that can be insert or remove from drive

4.     Miniature Hard Disk

Internal or External hard disk in a small version.

5.     Hard Disk Controller

Control the transfer of data, instructions, and information in the computer

C.    Flash Memory Storage

1.     Solid State Drive

Is a storage device that uses flash memory to store data, instructions, and information in the computer.

2.     Memory Cards

Data storage that can easily transport to another device

3.     USB Flash Drives

A data storage that can be used for another device by plugging it to that device port

4.     ExpressCard Module

Is a removable device that can be used to add memory, storage, communications, multimedia, and security capabilities to a computer.

D.   Cloud Storage

Is a hard disk storage provided by Internet service to computer users.

E.    Optical Disk

1.     CDs

Is a digital optical disc data storage in round shaped.

2.     CD-Rs and CD-RWs

CD-R is an optical disc which users can write, but not erase the data, such as text, graphics, and audio

CD-RW is an optical disc that the data can be erase and write on multiple times.

F.   Other Types of Storage

1.     Tape

2.     Magnetic Stripe Card and Smart Cards

3.     Microfilms and Microfiche

4.     Enterprise Storage
